About Rita

Rita Corwin paints with emphasis on color and mood. Her works are non-representational; and the designs are not planned in advance so each piece evolves as colors and shapes and assumes its own character. The viewer is free to experience the paintings intuitively, without a prescribed subject or focus. Rita endeavors to make forms and colors evocative, experiential and capable of eliciting emotion and mood.

Rita is a native of New York and has studied studio art and history of art throughout her life. In the Washington DC area, she has studied at the Art League in Alexandria (The Torpedo Factory), Rockville Arts Place, and the Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo, Maryland. She has exhibited in numerous group and juried shows. Her work is in private collections in the United States and in Europe.
